I've called this a property but really to me its a farm.
After my cousin Mark's wedding to the gorgeous Heidi on her parents farm in Yarragon (March 2008) , I felt forever changed. Suddenly I found myself in my ideal location, in awe of how amazingly beautiful the area is. When it was time to leave I honestly felt like I was being dragged kicking and screaming from here, I did not want to leave and it haunted me day and night from then on.
A month of real estate internet searching (the equivalent of porn for women!) we found 2 places to "have a look at". All the boys agreed to the move so Greg and I took the trip to have a look, after all perhaps the wedding had made me romanticise it all. First property ended up no where near where we wanted to be , too far out from Mebourne and in Greg's words "you would need to be a mountain goat to enjoy it". Back to Yarragon South and my god once again I am overwhelmed by its beauty and I am sold. A little mud brick cottage for Mum and we can build. Amazingly Council approves this and I know then its our fate.
Five months later and here we are packing to leave our homes, leaving a job I have worked SO hard to get (another story) and our friends.............

Wow, this page is great and I feel honoured to be the first to leave a comment, the first of many as I follow your journey and feel I am there with you :)
Sue & Co. arrived at Malua Bay to spend their first evening on their way down South. Apparently got a little held up leaving Sydney, one hold up was Sue had to go get meds for her hay fever. Seems the removalists where causing the dust to fly in her house.
Nevertheless, the dust was left behind them and so was Sydney and 3 cars loaded to the rafters, plus a trailer arrived intact, although about 4 hours later than expected.
It seems the person in charge of placing items in the cars (Greg) didnt quiet know where or which car their overnight clothes were - so the whole family slept in what they had on. Don't think anyone cared, they were just happy to be off the road and have a flat area to sleep on.
Marg was sick of going around corners I heard her say, and Sue nearly hit a wombat crossing the road.
Sue was over "it" already and just wanted to be there.
The boys were all fine.
Family left this morning about 9'ish with another 6 hrs to travel.
Bruce and I wished them a fond farewell, was lovely to see them,
(Must admit the noise level dropped heaps after they left).
So like Sue to be so organised with her little postcard with her Tree Change Address, she could have at least told me about it when we did our Sea Change - after all she has been advising me on lots of matter for a few years.
God Bless her lol
Now so, everyone who received her card should take up the offer of a visit for a country stay, I do believe she is an excellent cook!
I know Bruce and I plus Biggles will be visiting.
Don't be sad the Family has gone, be Happy - you'll get a lovely free relaxing holiday.

To some it seems to huge a move...leaving jobs...changing schools....leaving friends behind(althouh Im sure you will have plenty of visitors). But when you feel so strongly about it you will do whatever it takes to make it happen.I hope the new path your lives are taking are full of wonderful things.Enjoy!
Hi Sue,
I just got your postcard at work & I miss you heaps.
I'm so excited you chose to share your journey with your friends, so you're not really leaving us behind but taking us with you, along for the ride :)
Maybe I'll pick up some tips for when I do my big move to the farm one day.
So when's the first date I can book for the visit??? :) Just kidding will let you settle first then we'll decend on you, haha!
I'm so glad you're happy & it seems like an eventful trip down! Glad you didn't hit the wildlife.
We have discovered Rosellas in the trees at the new place in Leura as well as, oddly enough, a black rabbit & that's a lot of wildlife for me so Yarragon should prove far more many & varied than that.
Good luck, happy unpacking (i'm doing that too), I recommend lots of cups of tea to get you through the unpacking phase & if that doesn't work have a good stiff drink, everything will look better then!!
Love,
Ness xo
